Sewer tank gate valves opening in transit?

I could have sworn that my sewer gate valves were closed when I left on my last trip. When I went to empty my tanks I found the gate valves open. Luckily the cap sealed tight. No leak. The tanks were less than half full. This is a new coach. Has anybody run into this before? My gate valves are horizontal. Learned a valuable lesson. Make sure the gate valves are closed.

No, I've never experienced that, nor have I heard of it happening to anyone else. The older I get, the more things that I swear I did, I didn't!

You may want to install a twist on secondary sewer gate valve if you have the room to do so
