I don't know about the controller but here's the motor from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This may be your controller:

https://www.amazon.com/Lippert-Compo...omotive&sr=1-1

Very nice....I think you are correct. I guess the left and right motors are the same.

Just a thought....have you tried/practiced the manual procedures? I had a motor failure in the field and while I spent over an hour of hand wringing and searching the internet on my phone once I got it figured out it only took a few minutes to remove the motors and just push the slide in manually. I had to rig up a slide lock but having done it once I no longer have any fear or worry about the mechanism. When I got home I ordered a pair of adjustable slide locks for $35 and I carry them now but have never had to use them.

I wonder which is easier and smaller to store:
The spare motor and controller; or the slide locks?

This is the motor for the slide

AP Products U.S. Gear Products 014-287298 Motor Slide Out 500:1 High Torque https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HESRS06..._zOs5DbAJAE9J1

500/1 ratio. The overhead bed uses the 300/1

With that said call lci to get the proper model number

Jerry

Mine came with two slide locks. I use both while driving

Itís a good point but the slide locks certainly are cheaper and sometimes the issue could be in the wiring like mine was. Wire got pinched and broken.

If Jerry is right (and I suspect he is as he owns a 29M) then the motor I linked would be incorrect as it is the standard 300:1 ratio motor.

Try taking one out and getting the part number off of it. That way youíll be sure of getting the correct spare AND youíll be practiced at removing and reinstalling the part. Youíll be glad you know how to do it when your failure happens in the rain and you need to be somewhere!

The 300:1 is for the overhead bed.

In the 29M. Other Thor products use the 300:1 for slides as well including most full wall slides (like my ACE 27.1)

That might be a good idea to get a hold of lci and get the proper part number. A few RV owners had problems with their motors and I thought it might be a good idea to purchase a spare motor. If one went out I would have a spare. I do not have any adjustable slide locks but this does not sound like a bad idea.

I have looked at the motor replacement video and it looks fairly easy to do and you might be right by doing it first and not understanding the process in the field. I was just concerned if one did go bad could my wife help me push the slide back in.

I have a couple of these lying around. I passingly thought last week of installing one as a slide lock.
What do the factory locks look like?

I doubt I really need a slide lock on my little 24.1, but I have the part.
If the factory one isn't a big price and will be a cleaner install I'll do that instead.

And

I would SERIOUSLY suggest either the liftmaster jackshaft mount garage door opener or at least this lock(which comes with the 8500 liftmaster side jackshaft opener) for your garage door. The jackshaft side mount door opener is a wonderful thing.

I never removed mine to actually see the motor but I called Thor and was told the two different gear ratios but never got part numbers

That's why I suggested the op call Thor to see what exactly was put in his mh.

I may have to call Thor again to get the exact part number. I want to keep an extra motor in the mh also just in case!!

Another good reason to try it before hand. Mine was not a full wall slide but I was very surprised how easy it was to push in. I did it myself while my wife sat inside and read a book! But, of course you are right that there is no downside to having a spare on hand.

When I bought my coach the service manager came out and went over everything with me, he said if the slide fails to go in you just un plug two of the plugs in the controller and just push the slide back in, so I said show me and he un plugged the two plugs and we pushed the slide back in, I did not try but I am sure you could do the same for extending it, its not a one man job to push it in but it did work like he said, you have to plug the plugs back in to keep it from going out on its own when you are traveling, has anyone else tried this???
