Specs on chassis battery

It is time to install a new chassis battery and wondered if anyone may have the specs handy as I need to start shopping for one. I will pull the old one out this week, but would like to install the new battery at the same time.
Thanks

It's a Group 27. You need a starter battery, not a deep cycle or marine battery. Costco has Interstate at reasonable prices.

Also think about installing a cell watering kit at the time you install the new battery.

New battery on a 2015 MH?

The chassis battery sure did not last too long. Are you keeping it float charged during storage? I normally get 4-6 years out of a battery but accidental full discharge can really shorten it's life. Let us other Vegas owners how hard the procedure was cutting through the dashboard to get the old battery out. Let us also know if the noise is any worse after replacing the cut away board and what method you used to reinstall the plywood cover. Make sure shore power is not used during the battery replacement or the house batteries may energize the chassis battery terminals.

I get the feeling that this is a pretty foolish question, so forgive me...
Do all of our rigs use Group 27 Batteries?

My Ford E450 chassis is a group 65.

That's kind of what I was afraid of... Thanks!

Time to do some more figuring-out!

Thanks for the info. I already have a cell water kit installed. That and a cutoff switch was one of the first additions after ownership and maybe a reason I have had good service from it so far.

The chassis battery is still operating OK, but the fact that it is a Harris and that it is going on 4 or more years old, I though it would be wise to change it now by choice rather than on a trip at an inconvenient time.

Removing the folding desktop, pan and plywood plug was very easy with a screw gun and razor knife. I installed a wood cleat on each side of the opening to mount the plug back and close up the hole. Now, to go shopping.

I have a few pics I can post if you think they will help, although there have been some good ones posted already by others who have HAD to change their chassis battery.
Oh yeah, I found a couple of wires that needed some tie wraps, so while in there, take your time and look around for loose wires if you go in.

Finally changed the chassis battery and found it to be a Motorcraft group 65 instead of a Harris. Most likely that is why I never had any trouble with it. I would guess the stock Harris battery died and the dealer installed the Motorcraft. The new battery I installed is a sealed battery, so no watering kit needed. It is time to change out the house batteries also, but will probably need the kit on one of those especially the forward battery that is under the flg. of the step. That is if I can get a couple of group 27's that are not sealed.
