Storing and Plugging into house current?

I have a 30 amp Thor 29M and have placed it in covered storage with a regular house current outlet available. I would like to plug into the outlet to keep my batteries charged. No other purpose.

What do I need to do, or get, in order to plug my 30 amp cable into this outlet without damaging my electrical system?

Any drawbacks (other than not being able to use a/c, microwave, etc/

You'll need an adapter that'll allow you to plug your 30 amp RV cord, into a 20 amp socket.
They're pretty easy to find.
You also have to be sure to leave your "Use/Store" switch in the "Use" position.

Purchase a 15A to 30A Adapter...something like this but probably a better brand like Camco. They're all made the same.

Even Wal-Mart's sell them. There's usually an RV section of stuff near the trailer hitch section in Automotive.
One end will fit on your MH cord and the other end will fit into a standard receptacle.

I keep our Challenger (50 Amp) in a covered storage yard with access to a 15 Amp circuit for the purpose of maintaining batteries only. I use two adapters to plug in the coach (50 to 30 and 30 to 15). I leave the Use/Store switch in the Use position and turn off all electrical loads, including A/C, refrigerator and all lights. Haven’t had any problems except for one time when I forget to turn off the A/C. That tripped the storage yard’s breaker and I returned to dead batteries.

Yes, leave it on "Use" so that the batteries are connected to the charger.

Agree 100% "Use" Mode will keep the batteries charged-up; when you're plugged in!

There are lots of folks here who have posted about hooking up to a 15A house plug and using a 15A to 30A adapter for the 30 Amp cable to the RV connection. When you have it plugged into that 15 amp plug and are using a 15A to 30A adapter, check to see it the plugs and/or adapter heat up. On my 2015 Vegas if I plug into a 15 A plug with an adapter, the adapter gets warm after a while. I would never leave it plugged in like this for an extended period of time because there's a reason that adapter heats up. Too much load???

If I were able to store at home, I'd have an electrician come in and put a 30 amp circuit and plug just like at the RV parks to plug in my RV.

I guess that I should ask what sort of load you're putting on that outlet...
If you're using it just to keep your batteries happy
or...
to run a light or two...
or to cool down your refrigerator...
or even to watch TV...

...But not all three at once!

You should be just fine.
