Strange noise from new RV

We just picked up our new ACE 29.3 and have it connected to the 30amp power at our home. We keep hearing a motor going on and off but don't know what it is. We thought it was the generator that the dealer had turned on when we picked it up, but we turned it off. The motor turns on about every 15-20 minutes or so and stays on for about 3-5 minutes. The sound is coming from the bedroom area, maybe from under the bed. Just can't figure it out. Need suggestions.

If it sounds like a fan, could be the fan on the inverter.

I thought about that, but does it stay on all the time?

It is the cooling fan on the World Family converter/charger (WF-8955). The fan is controlled by the current draw not by temperature so it comes on at strange times. Mine is under the foot of the bed and after a year it no longer bothers me when it turns on while I am watching TV.

Like others have said its the fan under the bed for the inverter. After awhile you will get used to it.

Inverter cooling fan

I searched the forum for exactly the same thing. The inverter cooling fan comes on at odd times and is quite noisy. I don't recall hearing that noise when we travelled and were plugged in at various camp grounds. Guess nothing to be done about it, short of disconnecting from power?

It's the inverter fan, kinda noisy but after a while you won't even notice it!

Inverter fans will start based on, current draw, and or temperature. We have a separate converter, inverter is a Xantrex mounted in one of the side compartments. Even with virtually no current draw, if we are on the road and that compartment heats up, the fan will start and run for awhile. The advantage we have with where its mounted, it can't really be heard inside.
