Tail Lights

2016 Thor Vegas 24.1
I have to install another set up tail lights above the existing so they can be easily seen above my motorcycle/rack. Does anyone know whether these tail lights are flush mount or recessed fixtures?
Just trying not to have to remove what I have to look.
Thanks either way.
Cheers
Carle

I would say that they are really not "flush mount" because there are the rectangular openings cut specifically for the original taillights. Just remember that those stick on LED strips that Rev installed are probably not legal replacements. Here in CA, non-approved lighting pretty much guaranteed you were going to get a citation. Now, you can pretty much ignore that aspect because enforcement seems to be nonexistent. There are many choices on the internet including true flush mounts that could be wired but I would suggest that you stick with the LED approach because of their performance lighting wise and low amp use.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up taking one off and yes they are recessed. I will install the exact ones well above the existing. Cheers

Rev,
I like that idea. Did u modify those strips from the ones that can be purchased for use on a pick up truck under the tail gate and above the bumper?

Only the turn signal wire. Wired so the entire light bar flashes with right or left turn signals on selected side.Click image for larger version
