Testing the freeze control switch

My AC has been freezing up. I suspected the freeze control switch. I removed it and checked with a meter. It shows open when warm and after leaving it in the freezer for 30 minutes, it still shows open. I believe it should close at 41 degrees.
Does this sound right?

Yep, that's about right. The sensor on my rear AC failed one week after I took delivery. My compressor wouldn't kick on, took it back to the dealer (MHSRV) and they replaced the sensor. Just the opposite of yours, sensor stayed closed and was telling the AC it was frozen. Always something, fortunately it's an easy fix!
