Thor Gemini 23TR "Bang goes the Bed"
10/28/2016: When “on the road” (and thus the slide-out is IN), if you need to hard stop, the Bed section that folds up (when the slide-out is not extended), will fall forward with a BANG and hit the wall on both sides of the hallway. This may eventually damage the walls.
3:30PM: I talked to xxx xxxxxxx of Thor RV Support. Explained the problem and answer was that this issue has not been seen before and “what do you want me to do about it?”. Take it to your dealership was his final response. I replied that I was a bit disappointed in the response and suggested that they talk to engineering regarding a possible design flaw.
At 3:45PM Local CW Service Mgr. He non-committedly said that he would "look in to it" No communications since.
Anyone had this happen? Suggested solution>

can you send me a picture of what you are talking about??
I'd sure like to see a picture of your fix. I'm not visualizing what or where you'd get said tension rod.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Oh, I think I've got it. Like a tension rod to hold up a shower curtain ...only shorter. Good idea...as long as the stopping pressure doesn't focus all the force of the stop into a small section of the wall and punch a hole in it....
What do you think about that concern?

No. With the slide in, the couch is not visible nor accessible.

Thanks tmikea. I didn't know for sure but suspected that. The salesman told me people could sit back there on trips and I watched a presentation on the computer where the person said there were two slides and it setted 8. We are supposed to pick ours up tomorrow.

With our rear slide Vegas 25.2, we have a foam pad on the mattress, which prevents it from folding flat. I screwed an eye screw on each side of the slide and a bungee keeps the folded part from flopping. Maybe that would work for you, too.

We have a Gemini TX with the back slide out bed. We haven't had this happen yet but have read on other pages that its an ongoing issue. I hope they can resolve this issue but until then I think we will try the pressure rod.

We talk about how wonderful it would be if the rear slide bed were designed for travel seating forward facing. I suppose the difficulty would be how to attach seat belts to chassis.

I think the seat belts would be the easy part of this. There is no way for the couch to be accessed when travelling. BUT, I do agree with you, it would be nice for a little extra seating on rare occasions.
BTW, Welcome to the forum.

Measure how much of a cord you would need, to wrap around the mattress when it's folded. You can use pretty near anything, but I prefer a length of nylon rope (1/4"). store it under the mattress so that when you fold it up: you can grab one end of the cord. (Have the other end tucked in at the head of the bed...)
Put a loop in one end of the rope, and just tie them together for transport!
Easy-Peasey!
