Thor Palazzo water heater

Hello everyone,

We are brand new to this site and we are hoping for some help with a water heater problem. We have a 2017 Thor Palazzo. New to us, and we are currently on a 5 week trip around Colorado. When plugged in to a 30 amp spot our electric option on the water heater has stopped working. I am currently burning propane to heat water. The manual is no help with trouble shooting why it has stopped working. Circuit breaker is not tripped, and I have reset it numerous times just to make sure. Where can I go next??? Thank you for any suggestions

Would recommend if you are comfortable using a multimeter to check the element at the heater to see if you are getting voltage at the heater. If no - then problem exists from bkr to the water heater. If you have voltage, then need to see if it is the thermostat or the element.

question: what makes you think it's 'not' working?

... it could be the switch, itself, if so...

remember that while you can certainly run your water heater on propane, and it works great, it's not really 'running' the whole time... it only fires up when it needs to, and for only as long as it needs to... many of us use both the gas and elec at the same time, all the time, though the propane only fires up when a great amount of water(showers) are in use, and the electric side has a slower time keeping up.

also, if you are in hot weather, it's better to keep the water heater on propane, allowing you to use more of your 30 amps for Air Conditioners, even both at the same time if you are careful about other items you are using at the same time.

If you have the Firefly EMS and are running the one A/C on 30 amp power the EMS will not allow the water heater to operate on electricity. Just turn off the A/Cs and the water heater should operate on electricity.

yes, EMS systems are fine, but this may be one of those times when you wish you didn't have one... or, you may find that the firefly system will allow you to 'override' it's default and use the Electric water heater even on 30amp.... check it out.
