Thor Pinnacle 1998 AC not working

I got one AC with a dead short every time compressor tries to kick on trips breaker at panel. Other AC is about to fell trying to keep up. These things happen understanding age of both AC units. Trying to figure out the best possible scenario for replacing both units. Probably need to replace both top and bottom units non ducked and thermostat. Don't know what I need to do this any help would be great thanks

If you're referring to replacing both rooftops, it should be fairly simple as not much has change in their design. The cutout is 14"X14". You remove inside plastic cover to expose 4 bolts that hold the inside unit up against the outside unit. New units will come with the proper seals, etc. Almost plug-and-play if you have the muscle and basic tool skills. I this what you are talking about?

That's correct I was looking for suggestions on parts list not sure what all I need. Thanks for your help. Luckily the RV is big enough to run a stand-up portable unit in the living room to keep my dog cool while at work. Other than that it is measurable for me at least.

Everything you need should come with the new unit...not sure of your thermostat but it should still work with the new ones, as it only receives a 12V signal to come on or off. Remove the old units, clean up the mounting area real good and drop the new one in...with proper seals (included). Video is for a ducted unit but the basic remove/install process is about the same.
