Vegas Batteries & Propane Capacity

I’m buying a 2018 24.1 next week, sight unseen, I have several questions.

The specs say 40 lbs of propane...is that net or gross?

What are the factory coach batteries? Are they a sealed battery, or just a common lead acid; what size?

Are the tank heaters AC or DC ?

I do not recall the question of net or gross propane ever coming up. Its net but they never fill to max.
Most of the batteries are the fill type
Tank heaters AC

Tank heaters are not AC, they are 12V DC. If they were AC the other stuff I'm powering with the tank heater circuit would have exploded long ago! LOL

OEM batteries have traditionally been Harris wet cell batteries. Some have had good luck with them some haven't. It usually has been how were they treated while it sat in the dealers lot. Nonetheless one of the first things you should do is put disconnects on both battery systems (chassis and house)--along with getting an alignment.

If you haven't already, its a good idea to download and read Ed's excellent crowd sourced Axis/Vegas owner's manual:

(Its much more thorough than anything in the Thor bag.)

Thanks for the replies.

I have 4 Battleborn lithium batteries in my little Forester, mounted under the bed. I will be bringing them over to the Vegas, I was hoping that the Vegas batteries were a sealed type so they could just be installed in the same location, looks like I’ll be buying 2 new batteries. I’ve made the under step battery box in the Forester into a nice, accessible, tool box.

I’ll be looking for a place to put 4 batteries in the Vegas...any suggestions?

Two under the step and two in the passenger forward outside storage.
(or one under the step and 3 in the storage--depending on battery size.)
