Skylight won't close

We have a 2013 ThorCitation and the skylight won't closed. It is currently plugged into garage power. Changed the fuse, ran generator and engine. Any suggestions what may be wrong. Also is there a way to manually close it?

The "roof vents" are 12 volt so genny or shore power won't affect it, check the "use/store" switch to confirm it's in "use" or it should have a knob at 5he vent to close manually.

Thanks for the response travelin Texan. You mentioned to check the use/store switch, is this the battery disconnect switch?

Do people call the skylight and roof vent different names for the same thing. The skylight I mentioned here is marked "skylight" on the switch on the control panel. We have what I would call a roof vent with a fan in the bathroom. That is not what I am talking about here. It has an obvious knob to close it. The skylight does not have a knob. Also we noticed when changing the fuse the light next to the fuse doesn't come on when you pull it out, like it does when you pull the other fuses out. Almost like there is no power going to the fuse . Anyone ever experience this?

Check your other thread.

The blown fuse light only comes on if there is a load downstream. Since the vent is not operating, there is no load.

Most RVs have one or more 14"x14" vents, with or without fans. Your coach also has a Skylight which I assume is where your problem is.

Yes it is the skylight that is the issue. Any suggestions what may be wrong?

FYI ... on the Axis the vents are manually/knob .. open/close ... and in the bathroom there is a skylight...but nothing operable on that.

If it winds up being the USE/STORE (or battery disconnect) not being in Use (or connected) so that 12 VDC can be applied, I need to point out that even though you have it plugged in to shore power the converter is NOT providing 12VDC to the house batteries to keep them charged. The USE/STORE switch must be USE (or batteries connected) to charge the batteries.

Had a similar situation and after tracing 12 volt power and finding it hot, I found that the problem was simply a jam situation in the gear drive. After dropping the cover, the resolution was to simply turn the drive manually and normal operation returned and has not reoccurred. In retrospect, possibly tapping on the motor drive mechanism may have also solved the jam. Good luck.
