Just a thought.
Recalls for this type of issue really bothers me a lot. If the technology of attaching flywheels was a new technology, maybe I could understand it, but this is nothing more than a bonehead Ford QA problem, that they managed to make a consumer problem.

Funny thing happened at the last Ford Explorer service. Tech said we had a problem and offered to diagnosis for $75. I said, thanks but no. Plugged in my bluetooth OBD connector, fired up Torque, found the problem, went on line, found a YouTube video for replacing a Evap Value, spent $30 for the part and 20 minutes later - all fixed.

So yep, anymore there is no reason to leave your future in some else's expensive hands.

There is no AC, no blower control, no outlet selector (windshield, dash, floor), no recirculator switch AND no backup cameras! So, they say it's a Ford problem (but their cameras/radio are affected). We went on the trip anyway, around 2500 miles, in misery at times. At a home depot I bought some rigid foam and a roll of reflectix to cover the doghouse. This helped but we rode with the generator feeding the roof air, (closed all the back vents) and it was still inadequate. Ugh! We returned home and dropped the Axis off at CW and they can't find a Ford dealer that works on class As anymore. WTH?
When having my AC problems, Ford told me it was a Thor problem and that Ford did not furnish the AC system. Typical.

They might have been telling you the truth; which AC unit are we talking about?

You're right Laco. The Axis is in CW's hands for now. The nearest Truck Center is in Whittier, we'll see what CW does.

Oh, great. CW was saying it's Ford issue. Now to find out what's real. Any idea of researching that online? But thanks.

As far as I know - Ford provides ONLY the A/C compressor for the dash A/C - attached to engine of course... Thor does the rest in the coach build.

So unless it is a compressor failure - Thor is who you need to be dealing with.

Yup!

This reminds me of the headaches that occur when you buy a motorcycle that has been converted to a Trike...
Who built which part, and exactly what broke to cause the problem?

I have an OBD II module and app so that I can keep an eye on my MPG. The code stated that it was “Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected”. I called Ford helpline and was told as long as the engine light is not flashing that I could continue driving home and then schedule service.

I got a list of service centers from the Ford helpline but more than half of them said they can't handle RVs and shouldn't be on the list. Calling around, the few Ford dealers that could handle motorhomes all said that they were backed up with RVs and couldn’t get to me till mid October at the earliest.

I called the dealer that I purchased it from (MHSRV) and was told that the earliest they could take a look was mid November.

I called THOR and spoke to a “service tech” who suggested that I clear the error and see if it happens again. I asked if this would void the warranty with Ford and got a ????? well gee I don’t know???

I talked to a local RV service center who was nice enough to tell me that the most probable cause of this code on this engine is spark plug related but that they no longer accept Ford warranty work due to difficulties getting paid. Less important was the AC would occasionally start blowing very hot and we would have to turn it on and of a few times to kick back in.

Very disappointed in all parties involved.

Yep they are all your best friends when buying anything. After won't give you the time of day.

Now I should change the title to confused.

On Ron’s (vkb) advice I called a commercial fleet dealer that Ford did not list. (Thank you Ron, it didn't work out but it was worth a shot) The service department asked which chassis my RV has. I responded E450 and he said of course we can service it. “Can you have it in by 1:00 today?” I was SO excited. I was on empty after my “maiden voyage” so I filled her up and headed to Ford. He took one look and told me that I had lied to him on the phone. He assumed an E450 meant C class. His guys can’t work on anything that does not have a traditional engine hood. So after calming myself down, I started driving home.

About two miles into the drive home, the engine light disappeared!!!???!!!
The Ford dealer was about 25miles from where I filled up, could it have been bad gas?
I did a rescan with my ODB app when I got home and there were no longer any Pending or Permanent trouble codes.

I still love my Vegas but have come to realize the only help that I am going to get is from the community on this forum. Thank you all for jumping in and giving your thoughts

It is possible that the gas cap was not tight, if they are not tight or if you fill up the unit while running it will trigger that light

It could be just that the rig sat around for a while and was reading errors from old fuel, gelled up sensors and what not. I had a new f150 a few years back that I hardly ever drove and when I did it was only a mile or two sometimes. I constantly had check engine lights on and off. The dealer said all it takes is one misfire and the light comes on. After several starts and runs without the misfire the light will just go out because everything is just fine. Most times check engine lights are set of from the oxygen sensor in the exhaust, so even old fuel will set them off.

I was thinking the same thing...
...And I'm hoping that this is the source of the problem: easiest fix possible!

This is distressing, the dash ac in our 17 ACE started blowing warm air on the way home from our first trip. Was going to try to find a Ford dealer that will work on the ac. But if I understand correctly, this may be a Thor issue.
