Hydrolic leak

My front leveled has a hydrolic fluid leak. Of course I can't get it into the service dept. Is the power steering reservoir the same as the hydrolic fluid? I can't find any thing in the book about where to check the levels.

I think many of the levelers used ATF (Automatic Transmission fluid) but some (like the Big Foot brand) use Dot 3 brake fluid.

Do a search for your brand (and model) on line and see what they suggest.

Let us know what you find out.

No, the Power Steering reservoir is not the same reservoir that your hydraulic leveling system uses.

Look in you storage compartments for the hydraulic motor, block and reservoir all-in-one. Looks like:

Oh, I didnt catch what he was saying. LOL. NO its not the same reservoir. Independent system. That would be a big saftey no no. You could loose your brakes going down the road.

For Power Gear - In most applications,
•Type A automatic transmission fluid (ATF, Dexron III, etc.,) will work
satisfactorily.

Mercon V is also recommended as an alternative fluid for Power Gear leveling systems operating in environments with large temperature swings. Operating in cold temperatures (less than -10°F) may cause the jacks may extend and retract slowly. For cold weather operation, fluid specially-formulated forlow temperatures may be desirable,

Mobil DTE 11M, Texaco Rando HDZ-15HVI, Kendall Hyden Glacial Blu, or any Mil. Spec. H5606 hydraulic fluids are recommended for cold weather operation.
