Water heater bypass, ACE 27.1

I can see the valves through the screen in the bedroom, but no way to reach them without 5' arms. Someone said to unscrew the screen and remove it, but this screen has no screws. I thought maybe remove the drawer above the plumbing, but it hits the bed before it is out far enough to unlatch. Even then there is a solid floor under the drawer and I do not see a good way to remove that.

This was my first call to Thor customer service. I spoke with a pleasant gentleman who was just as perplexed as I am. It seems that their blueprints, and certainly the owners manual are out of date and lacking in detail.

So, has anyone else with a 2015 ACE 27.1 been able to access the bypass valves?

Smile Never mind. I figured it out

So here is what finally worked:

1. Raise the bed and prop it up. (I used the pole from the table)
2. Remove the drawer just above the water heater
3. Take out the two little screws holding the hatch below the drawer
4. Success! The three valves are right there and easy to reach.

Sorry if anybody went to any trouble to help me on this, but maybe this will help someone else.

Hi, I have the 2016 ACE And was also trying to access the water heater. My electric does not work and I wanted to check the element but had no idea how to get to the heater. I was told that there is also a on/off switch there also. I want to try to check it before driving 50 mile one way to dealer, thanks again.

My question is how to remove the drawer. I raised the bed but I don't know how to unlatch the drawer guide.

If they are like my drawer slide, slide the drawer out all the way and then look for a small black lever/tab (these are the drawer slide locks)on each side of the drawer slide. While raising the tabs (it may require raising one and lowering the other) pull the drawer out of the slide.

This is the same system used on all the drawers in my coach and if yours is the same you can look at another easier to access drawer and try it out.

Hopefully this is what you were asking about and I am not off base. If I am I apologize.

Yes, Thank you very much. I'll try that. I saw the black tabs. I'll try a kitchen drawer first.

Hi, I am trying to get my water heater 110 volts to heat water. How do I trouble shoot the 110 circut. The propane side works. I thought there was a loose wire but it was white coax left behind after assembly. I don't know how to access rear area of water heater. I don't think they would have to remove water heater?
