Water Leak

Have not used the freshwater system since I obtained the Vegas so decided this AM to sanitize the freshwater system.

Did "all the steps" but water was not coming out of any of the outlets - water pump just kept on "whinning and whinning".

Looked under the bed and noticed the water valve was in the "off" position so I moved it to "on". Then I noticed water was accummuating on floor under the water pump. So I turned water valve and pump "off" and cleaned up the mess.

Tried it again and got same results. And cleaned up the mess again. So I think I either have a bad water pump or the connections have vibrated loose.

Since the Heat Index is currently at 115F, will defer this action to a cooler time. Like tomorrow AM or Thursday AM.

In the interim, just to be on the safe side, I'm going to order a new water pump. If I don't have to replace the current one at least I'll have a backup on hand JIC.

First thing to check is the strainer going into the pump: Many (myself included) have found the cap on the strainer loose.

Barring that it is possible the connections to the pump are also loose; a quick turn with your hand will tell you.

Given Thor's reputation it is more likely something isn't screwed together than that something broke... !

Well I know the previous owner and dealer(s) never used the water system 'cause I found plenty of plastic shavings in the water strainer.

Got that cleaned out but still have water under the strainer and pump. Pulled strainer screen, reinstalled and put cap back on to hand tighten plus 1/4 turn.

Surprise! Surpise! I was surprised to have the thread part of the cap come off and then the top of strainer cap fell by the wayside.

Got an e-mail in to manufacturer about getting another cap or two.

not long after buying ours new, all the while fighting symptoms of air in the pump/lines, I had a small flood in the kitchen area near my pump location. Turns out that the strainer cap on mine was cracked Looked to have been put on just a bit too tight.
The MH was new (although it had been on the dealer lot for a long time) and I'd never touched that thing so it was either the factory, the dealer, or I suppose a freeze might have done it but unless it was during manufacture and delivery I'd say that's doubtful. It does freeze where the dealer is pretty far down in Florida, but not long and not often....so my bet is someone over tightened the cap.
I had the same experience....once I was able to get in touch with thor, they sent me a new cap out lickety split
