AGS question

Just when you think you have it figured out.

I have a 2017 Tuscany 45 AT. I engage the AGS and it seems to work but last night after it runs according to the settings it will disable itself. In other words it starts runs according to plan and then a cuts the generator off. But then the firefly control panel with show AGS disabled.

Any thoughts would help as I am dry camping.

are you saying that 'IT' disables itself, after it reaches it's RUN TIME end,

or are you saying that it becomes disable after YOU cut the generator off manually?

I'm not sure how the firefly systems interacts with the AGS, but as on my Magnum ME-RC remote, I suggest doing the following check:

- press the AGS button
- scroll to AGS TECH section
- scroll to AGS MODE
- change from RV to 'OTHER'

Onan has this built-in 'protection', supposedly for RVs to comply with RVIA requirements, to automatically shut off the AGS if/when the generator is manually stopped, I suppose for the protection of technicians who may be working on the generator itself, to keep it from starting while they are working on it.
But, the 'OTHER' mode allows you to bypass this feature, which is actually what RVrs really want, when off-gridding. Even if you manually stop the generator during it's AGS run, or anytime otherwise, the AGS will REMAIN Enabled, and will continue to constantly monitor any of your AGS Settings, such as Voltage or Temperature.

Your AGS MODE setting may be set at this 'default' from the factory, and may be why you're experiencing these 'nuisance' disabling of the AGS...

Thanks for the help. The Firefly will not let me get to the AGS setup. I’ll have to call Magnum as the unit outside does not appear to have any buttons. If I could figure out how to post a picture I would.

no, chances are the Magnum inverter will have no way to maneuver settings directly from it - only a ON/OFF push button.

Magnum support probably can't help with the Firefly system, since that's an external setup, so calling Firefly would be the best option - even their website might have a link to how to manage Magnum's settings from it's operating system.

To close out this topic I called Firefly and reviewed the actions that would cause the AGS to disable.

1) Turning the ignition key
2) Pressing the brake peddle - not sure I have this one right
3) exceeding 4 hours of generator time.

As the AGS has worked flawlessly since, I am inclined to say it was #3 above - I hit the max run time.

Thanks for helping me out.
