TV not working on cable

I haven't been able to get our tv's to work on cable at parks, tried everything but no luck! Finally broke down and called Thor customer service. Person I spoke to was super nice and helpful!!!

In cabinet above dinette is a cable outlet with a TINY SWITCH and LITTLE green light on the other side of coax stub, couldn't see it standing on floor, had to climb up and stick my fat head in the cabinet. Switch is for the antenna booster, when it's on no cable, off you can get cable. Thor made sure that switch was hard to see, but now I know!

One of the most common problems. Glad you got it taken care of.

I am having the same problem going from satellite to park cable on our Tuscany XTE 40GQ. Think I might have now found the magic button in cabinet above driver's seat. The box is "aux/sat and tv". Does this sound like it?

Sounds like it. Lite on usually for antennae, off for cable

That's it. We used to have a Tuscany and that was the switch we had to change depending on what we were using.

Beth - I have a 2015 Tuscany XTE and I think our setup may be similar. The Aux/Sat switch has nothing to do with the SAT. I found this out by removing all the panels and tracing the cables, those cables are not attached to the satellite - at least on my unit. What fun.

Aux/Sat does matter when you are receiving over the air transmissions. The light needs to be on for receiving the over the air transmissions, the light signifies that the antenna booster is on. When hooked up to a campground's cable the light needs to be off or the booster interferes with the cable.

When hooked up to cable or receiving over the air make sure your tv input setting is "TV". Go to settings or preferences and make sure the right signal type is selected; cable or antenna. From there go to auto program. You should be set at this time.

When using the satellite make sure you input is set correctly; on my unit it is HDMI1/MHL. And the proper switch/button is selected on the HDMI switch for satellite/DVD/etc. Note: the cable/antenna does not route through the HDMI switch. I found out I had a bad HDMI switch after many hours of searching. Once replaced everything worked.

Still can't get tv to work on cable

Hi all, I found the switch mentioned here. I have a Freedom Elitie 28h, it is above the couch. No green light, still no cable channels, I have verified with others around me that the cable in the park is working. Is there another switch maybe?

Thanks!
Jeff

Have you gone to the tv menu and selected "cable" and scan in the set up? Since you don't have a green light for the antenna booster, I would check this next. You also need to check the tv source input..."tv", "HDMI", etc. to be certain it is on the correct input source.

Thanks for the response!

Yes I did scan the stations and I do have the he right input source...

I also re checked the cable connections. Looks like I might have a short somewhere...

Those things can be tough to track down sometimes. Maybe a loose connection at a splitter or an A/B switch if you have one.
Sorry I can't offer any other suggestions that may help.
Good luck with it. Maybe someone else on here can offer some other ideas.

If the television is a SEIKI you may be encountering the QAM tuner issue with cable.

Search the forum for QAM and read to your hearts content.

TV not working on Cable or DVD

I need your help. Just purchased a 2013 Thor Siesta 29GB. We are having the same problem with the TV. Spoke with Thor tech support today and they said it is the Antenna Booster. Thoroughly looked through all the cabinets from the media switch box to well past the roof antenna for the Antenna Booster - nothing. Any ideas or suggestions as to where to look in this motor coach? Thanks!

Look at where coax enters coach, there should be a VERY small button on the wall plate.

Greetings all,
I read all of the replies to the cable not working, I am in a park where I can't get satellite due to trees, bought a cable cable tv since the park is supposed to have cable, no luck, turned off the antenna booster. The cable connection for my coach is in the area where the sewer/water bay is....any advice would be great

If you haven’t already done so, turn on the TV and go into setup. For picture signal you have to choose cable. Once you have chosen cable then you activate the channel scan. It will take a few moments and then the TV will broadcast the signals that are available.
