Water in Storage Compartment

Hi,

We just returned from a weekend trip. The return drive was in heavy rain. When I looked in my underneath storage compartments there was water in most of them. One compartment has alot of water.

This is a new ACE 30.2.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to prevent this?

Thanks
Rob

water in storage compartment

I have a new 30.2 and I would get some water in my large compartment if I had not locked the lower catch. Both catches need to be secured to seal it.

Hope that works for you.

Make sure that when you remove or put items into the storage compartments, you don't damage the paper thin lip that the gasket material attaches to (and the latch also uses). They often get dented when moving stuff around. And when that happens, either the doors won't seal properly, or the latch will not tighten the compartment enough.

Just another example of the quality in the RV industry... unfortunately, it gets worse as the RV ages.

Most seasoned RV owners could write a pretty good check list for what things to avoid when shopping for a new RV. Unfortunately, if you used that list, you would not likely find any RVs that would pass muster.
