What ladder?

I hate climbing on ladders but my Axis 25.2 has no ladder so...
8 or 10 foot step ladder to get on the roof?
I have a telescoping ladder stored in the front compartment but it is for emergencies and I really don't trust it.
I just received a estimate of $300-$1800 for roof cleaning and caulking so think it's time to overcome my dislike or fear of ladders. We purchased the Axis in August 2016 and the roof have been unseen or touched by humans since. No leaks but am probably on borrowed time.
Comments? Suggestions?
Thanks all.

If you don't trust the telescoping ladder: throw it away!

I spent good money on one that I trust (12.5 feet), and it's a keeper!

On a positive note...you'll only fall once!

Seriously... If you're not comfortable on a ladder: stay off of them.
Being nervous can often lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy: falling!
Good luck!

I bought one for $64 in 2016 from Amazon. $219 seems a little high.

I don't do ladders. I get dizzy just sittin' on the toilet. I fell 10' working on my deck 5 years ago...still feel it. For those who have no issues...I envy you...go for it...I used to.

I hate ladders also but use them with extreme caution. Using the ladder on my mh isn't an issue though

Timing is everything, Bob. Just got 2nd eye completed yesterday with cataract surgery!! I've worn glasses since 2nd grade. No longer need them...I can see for miles and miles now. Pretty amazing change in my life!! Now that song is stuck in my head!!! "Tanks A Lot".

Congratulations!!
I'm 20/360 in one eye, and corrected to 20/40 in the other.

Well, thanks for all the good advice and the dark humor.
I ended up taking out the telescoping ladder and trying it for the first time. It is a beast, much sturdier than I expected and extends to 20.5 feet. I have seen my roof and it is a thing of beauty! Maybe not a beauty but not nearly as bad as I expected. I just found that I will have somewhere between $300-$1800 to spend on us.

I just got the word that I need that surgery, and not really looking forward to it. But if it eliminates the "fog", I guess it will be worth it.

Easiest surgery I've ever had. Had both done last year. Now have 20/20 in one and 20/25 in the other. You'll be so happy.

It's not the fall that hurts it's the sudden stop.

Ed, you'll never look back (pun intended). You don't realize how much you can't see and the colors of everything are amazing. TIP: Pay the extra $2500 per eye (not covered by insurance) for the upgraded Symphony lenses. That clinic looked like a homecoming party for the Class of 1933!!

Funny...just a few years ago, you get three or more guys together, the subject always steered towards women. Now we're talking so openly about falling off ladders, inability to get up off the ground and eye surgery so we can see.

20.5 feet? That is a Monster!
(I could use that one in the back of our Office... changing light-bulbs!)
