Unhappy wind noise

Have a 2017 thor ace 27.2.Huge wind noise at 50mph and above. sealed winshield and side windows, no help. Can wind be coming thru front grill and blasting up thru dash? cant seem to find noise , very frustrating!

If the Ace is similar to the Windsport it’s the design of the grill. There’s many threads throughout this forum about it. The shape of the openings in the grill is the culprit at highway speeds. It sounds like it’s coming from the windows but it Ain’t! My Windsport suffered but Thor provided the screen. Cut to fit and attach with wire ties behind the existing grill. You’ll find many similar articles in the forum on it. Dumb design but easy fix.

Check your front slide window locks. Sometimes they will push the window out and cause the wind noises.

I called Thor about 2 weeks ago asked about the wind noise and mentioned the screen fix. The lady said she's never heard of it and would check and call/email back....no word yet
Can you send picture of the type material they sent you maybe I can fix mine without Thor

Hard to believe she wasn’t aware, it’s a famous problem. I’d pester them again and mention it relates to the issue on Hurricanes and Windsports.
I don’t have a sample to show but on the Thor Forun look for a thread in Modifications and Updates titles “Thor high pitched wind noise solved”, submitted by CO Thor 29.2. There are pictures, alternatives and a whole lot of discussion on the topic.
Good luck.

Thor says

Talked to Thor again today, the guy says he'd heard of Aces having the problem but not the Windsport. Then he asks what my grill looked like, then says it's the "new" grille so that means there is/was a problem grille. Next step is to pull the grille and see if that stops the noise, if it works I'll try Thor again. If they don't help I'll design and build a grille for the thing.
The whole industry needs a good swift kick in the butt

Wind noise on Windsport

After trying the hard to do stuff I finally tried the loosen the window latch and that cured about 95% of the noise. Was up on the ladder looking for anything loose, missing or just wrong.
I also took the grille out, whoever installed the grille screwed in in without any washers so I'll stop in the morning and get washers sized to hold the screen in place, 3-4 screws weren't doing anything.

So even with the work and test drives I'll mark a win in my column
Next up the sway bar fix
The good thing is I'm learning a lot about the MH
Got a bit of fire glass rash on my arms
