Windshield Washer motor

The windshield washer is blowing the 5 amp fuse for the washer/wipers. Anyone else have this problem? Seems the motor needs changing before ever having squirted.

Very common problem. The pumps are simply bad. I pulled mine and took it into the workshop and hit it with 12 volts. Lots of sparks, but no spinning!

Advanced Auto has a workable alternative for about 20 bucks. Pull yours and take it in so they can match it. Pep Boys does not stock anything that will work. Other retailers might. The pump is provided by Thor, not the chassis manufacturer!

You can get a replacement from Thor, but a web-search says that's a crap shoot. Half the replacements are bad too.

Thanks for the reply/info, Randy. I have a couple of other items for a Thor dealership to take a look at and this is one of the items on the list of repairs. Didn't realize it's a Thor replacement part instead of Ford though and that it's a common problem. No telling how many I'll go thru before I get a good one. Until then, I suppose the cleaner reservoir will stay full. Too bad Thor installs such junk in their coaches.
