Winterizing

Is it necessary to winterize if I drain all tanks and put small heater inside of 2016 axis 25.2

Depends on how cold it gets. Just draining tanks leaves water in lines and water pump. Also in p-traps under sinks. There are numerous posts on how to winterize on these sites. Might want to consider having a dealer winterize for you the first time and watch what they do. Cost should be around $50. Much cheaper than fixing something!! Just my humble opinion.

If you do drain the tanks and use a small heater I would open all the cupboard doors that have plumbing in them and remove any drawers that are blocking plumbing to make sure the heat gets back there.

In your case: leave the bathroom door open and the door below the bathroom sink. Kitchen drawers pull out, etc.

Keith is right, though, better to winterize and be safe.

Hugh_ The owners manual I forwarded to you had an extensive checklist on winterizing.

Jamiageek also posted an outstanding winterization guide (from which I borrowed extensively for the manual). It is located on this thread: http://www.thorforums.com/forums/f8/...ht=winterizing

I'd say -- go for it and give it a try.

And remember to drain the outside shower!

Why chance it? It's cheap and easy to winterize. I'm sure safer and cheaper than leaving a heater running in there.

I've winterized twice this season just to be safe.
BTW, the hot water shutoff is found only by feel.....just above the cold. and a bit different than the great checklist on this forum (which was written by a 24.1 person), in the 25.2 the Low point drains are behind the drawer under the fridge.

I love this little RV.

One thing not mentioned here but is located in other threads is dry winterizing. You can use an air compressor set to 45 PSI to blow air through the lines and faucets to expel any water.

Of note here is dry winterizing does not blow water out of the water pump, strainer and possibly the water line running from the fresh water tank and the water pump. Also it will not winterize your ice maker.

I have dry winterized my coach twice since November and this weekend I plan on doing the wet winterization (antifreeze). Due to business related travel and a warranty visit to the dealer my season has pretty much come to a close.
