Has anyone removed the windshield rear view mirror on a Class C

I was wondering if anyone has removed the rear view mirror from the windshield on a Class C? I have a Chateau 28F and the mirror does nothing but take up room on the windshield. I watched a You Tube on how to do it but didn’t feel comfortable prying on it. Help!

I'd try a heat gun to soften the adhesive. 2cents worth

There is usually a set screw that tightens to the "puck" that is glued to the windsheild.

Loosen the set screw and remove the mirror. Use a sharp wood chisel with the bevel pointed away from the glass, put the sharp edge where the mount is against the glass, a few taps with a hammer and it should pop off. I have removed several mirrors using this method and never chipped or broke the glass. Don’t get carried away with the hammer, let the sharp chisel do the work.

I removed the one from my 2015 Four Winds 22. As I recall, there is a small set screw at the bottom of the point where the mirror mount attached to the windshield. After you loosen it, the mirror slides toward the top. Any Ford service dept. or an autoglass service can verify this for you.

The Utube video with the knuckle dragger forcing it off the windshield is a good way to crack it. Luckily you didn't try that.

I actually use mine as a "conversation" mirror.
I can see some of what the family is doing back there.... see if that noise was the fridge door flying open, stuff like that....

When I get my E-Z Pass module from NYS: I'm going to mount it on the mirror. At least I'll get some good use out of it!

Don't have one in the Gemini, but our previous DP did, as that's were the outside air temperature and compass read-outs were. I found it useful, as our grand kids often traveled with us, and through the rear view mirror I could watch them.
