Wobbly Class A With Jacks Down
We’ve been in our 2017 Miramar for over a week and have worked through some issues. One that has been nagging us is that the coach wabbles. My wife keeps comaining that she is getting sea sick like we are on a cruise boat. The wind blows, someone moves around and it can be felt throughout the RV.
The jacks are resting on some 1x8 pressure treated wood planks and we are on Florida soil covered in grass on the lot we are on.
Any suggestions on how to get a more stable platform?

Are the jacks lifting any of the wheels off the ground?
Retract the jacks, check the jack mounting bolts to the frame and they are they tight?
Wiggle the jack rod in the cylinder... it shouldn’t.
Are the 1 x 8 planks too smooth. The jack pad gliding on the wood?
Try something other than the wood.

Thank you for the reply.
All of the wheels are on the ground.
Can I retract the jacks with the slides out? I have two on the drivers side.
The wood planks are a week old from Home Depot.

Safest for slides is to bring them in before retracting jacks..
If everything is secure, try leveling again... Insure all four jacks are firmly down and have lifted the weight off the suspension.
Even a single jack not down firmly can be noticed (just ask my DW)...
Auto leveling should drop all four and usually lifts enough to take weight off suspension.

Switch to manual and just raise all the jack a couple inches

Some of the leveling systems, are also advertised as stabilizers too. Those will, once the motor home is level, increase hydraulic pressure at each jack to better stabilize the RV. Not all do that, I know HWH does, not sure of the others.

It sounds like you are still sitting on much of your suspension. Like previously suggested, you might try lowering your jacks another inch or two. I have noticed with my Miramar the more level the sight, the more I feel it when someone walks through the RV. The more unlevel the site the more the jacks extend and the more the weight is off the suspension.
Remember that you are not on a foundation, like a house, so feeling some motion is normal.

Thank you all, this is great feedback. I’ll experiment and circle back with my findings.

I use 2'x2' x 1/4" Lexan under my jacks - unbreakable and provides a solid surface. If your coach is lifting the wheels off the ground, this will add a lot of instability. You may have to do a manual lift to prevent this.

Since I first reported this issue, I've found improved stability at different sites.
The 2x10s we had the jacks on before, when pulling them up were bent into u-shapes and on top of the Florida sand. Since then, we've stayed in Georgia and now Tennessee on gravel or paved surfaces using no pads and are enjoying the improved stability.
In the event that we will run into a situation with soft sand, I've purchased Camco jack pads.

You might think about Snap Pads, install them once and done. I feel like the coach is more stable with the Snap Pads, plus no more boards to carry!!!

I’ve had mine for over a year now, one of the best new RV accessories I’ve seen in a long time!

I added the snap pads earlier this year, they make a ton of difference and I do not have to climb under and put wood under the jacks any more.

I've read the snap pads are really good upgrade. Those are on my list, but it comes at a pretty big expense.
For the Miramar, did you get the 9" https://www.amazon.com/RV-SnapPad-Pe...ds=RV+Snap+pad

I’ve been RVing for a long time and many times have had to crawl under a coach in the rain and mud to either put down or remove pads. Guess I’m so excited about Snap Pads because I don’t have to get on my hands and knees anymore and I don’t have to store them. Great idea and one of the most useful new ideas I’ve seen in years and once they’re on you can forget about them!

This is the first that I've heard of Snap Pads (I'm pretty new to all of this!).
Do they come specifically sized for a particular application, or is it a "One size fits all" sort of deal?

They come in several different sizes and as the name implies they snap on to your jack pads. If you measure the diameter of your pads you’ll know which size to order. Pretty sure your coach will take the 9” Xtra pads. Takes about 10 minutes or less to install the pads.

I normally slide some 14"x14" pads underneath the jacks. Would it still be wise to continue to do so?
