Yellowing roof dome over shower

Was up on the roof today checking and applying 303 to awnings, plastic, rubber etc. Noticed the plastic dome over the shower is starting to yellow. I tried a bit of plastic lens cleaner-yellow remover on it and it does clean up. Sun is to bright to finish it and I am going to hunt up a buffer to do the work.
Interesting that the dome yellows, but the vent covers are nice and bright and both are about the same age. Thor must have used the lowest bidder on the dome. Last RV I had, the dome stayed bright with no yellowing.

I'm pretty sure they are different plastics given that the dome is clear and the vent covers are mostly opaque.

On our 5th wheel it took about 7-8 years in direct sunlight to get the vent covers brittle enough that a moderate hail storm could destroy them. The dome survived the storm intact; it still had the original dome when we traded it in.

The exterior layer of the dome is very thin plastic. A buffer might go through it. Not from the friction or heat, but just the weight of the buffer.

Buffer was not much help since all surfaces were curved. Elbow grease got the job done. Most of the yellowing was removed, but not like new, so finished up with a coating of 303 and called it quits as the sun set.

303 Aerospace Protectant is a sunscreen UV blocker for rubber, vinyl, plastic etc. Been using it for years on boats, planes and RV's. Does a good job. Google 303 and you will come up with a lot of info, prices etc.
