08 Chevy FW 5000 23a Towing a jeep

Hello. We own a 08 Chevy FW 5000 23A and was looking to tow a Jeep Wrangler Sport or Sahara. Is anyone currently doing so. Other option is my 04 Tracker or my 14 Spark on a dolly.

Don't know the tow capacity of your Class C - but the Wrangler is a good tow behind... (assume it is 4WD if you want to flat tow.)
My 2010 Wrangler 2dr soft top is almost 3,500 pounds - so check your specific model and weight limits.
Set it up with a good tow bar, lights, and brakes.

I tow with a 33 ft Class A - notice it behind me on acceleration - but that's it.. Tows nicely.

If you have specific questions setting up - ask away.

Hi From what I can tell it appears that the Chevy chassis has a 5k capacity.

Should be ok with most Jeep Wranglers then... Just won't be able to put of lot of cargo (from weight standpoint) in the Jeep.
For towing - look at Roadmaster and Blue Ox - they seem to be the most popular. Both good equipment. I went with Roadmaster - got a better price including installation.
Need for Jeep:
  • Base plates attached to frame (attach points for towbar)
  • Auxiliary brake (can be portable or permanent)
    includes 'breakaway' sensor
  • Tail lights (separate lights, or wired into Jeep lights with plug in front of Jeep)
Jeep sells an OEM harness that lets the MH run the Jeep's taillights
And for connection to MH:
  • Tow Bar
  • Safety Cables
  • Light/power wiring (MH harness to new plug on front of Jeep)
  • Breakaway cable (came with brake system)
  • Aux brakes may have a 'monitor' cable that runs to light on MH dash
Tow bars can store on the MH or Jeep (by model)... Some more adjustable - allowing hookup/release without having to line up precisely - or being level, etc)

A good setup including install can be around $2000+ for parts... But look at the value of what is on each end of the towbar...

Some links for what I use:
Towbar: Falcon All-Terrain Tow Bar - Roadmaster 522 - Tow Bars - Camping World
Brake: Roadmaster InvisiBrake - Roadmaster 8700 - Tow Car Brakes - Camping World
Jeep wiring harness: Tow Vehicle Wiring Harness - 82211156AB | Mopar
Base plates vary by year/model... Must match towbar for style of connectors.
