Flat towing a c max. Installers

Was speaking with e trailers and they stated they would install the tow gear for free if we came to their office near St. Louis. Their prices are good and leaning that way . We’re going cross country in August so my wife would follow me from NY to St. Louis. Does anyone know of a similar installer closer to NY. DW not sure bout that long drive. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I think the e trailer is a good deal. Would have to get a room for nite or two. Thanks

I have a 2014 Cmax Energi. I bought the baseplate from eTrailer and installed it myself. Took about 3 hrs no real problems. They have a great step by step video which is invaluable. I also installed the tail light wiring myself but am having a bit of a problem blowing a fuse in the coach that controls the trailer lights. Its just a problem, I’ll find it although it’s being elusive at the moment. See my recent post.

We bought the base plate for our cmax from etrailer, like HatRackRV I self installed everything.
The CMax is an excellent toad, best we've had.
A LOT better than the jeep Cherokee we have now.

What brake system are you going to use?

A couple of suggestions

Check with UHaul about renting a one way tow dolly.
99.9% of the flat tow work will be on the cmax, stay in your mh while they do the install
Use the $ you were going to spend on a motel to rent a car and see the town.

enjoy towing your cmax
