Anyone tow a 2014 Jeep Wrangler?

The owners manual says that you have to leave the key in the vehicle turned to the ACC position while towing. However, I have read posts in other forums saying that this is not necessary in 2010 or newer Wranglers because the steering column does not lock. Anyone out there towing a Wrangler and o you tow it with the key in the ACC position?

No key needed on our 2012...
Brake controller needs power and the dash outlet is only powered with the key in ACC or on position. Fortunately the console 12V outlet stays powered.

Jeep has not updated the owners manual since the locked steering wheel went away in 2010. We tow a 14 JKU, simple to hook up.

Thanks for the replys. We got a Blue Ox towbar and baseplate for the Jeep. You are right, hookup is very quick and easy. Towed it about 250 miles a few weekends ago when we went to Lewistow, PA.

NO key needed in my '15 JKU. Follow the instruction in the recreational section of the OM and you are good to go.

I concur with others. We have towed and 2010 and now have a 2013 and no key needed. However, just to be sure when I heard about this and had the 2010 I took it to a slight incline that was clear and let it roll down the incline with no key in ignition and me at the wheel. I turned the wheel both right and left as we rolled and no lock - just to be sure. You can't trust everything you read on the i-net!
