Bike Rack for Windsport 29M

Looking for a recomendation for a bike rack that will fit a Windsport 29M with no motifications. The hitch seems way under the RV. Just want to get somthing that will clear the back of the RV with the bikes attached.

If bikes only, you can buy hitch extensions in different lengths that will bring the receiver out a bit, as long as you only load it lightly. There are hitch manufacturers that say extending a hitch will reduce capacity by 50%. I had to add one to my35SF as the rear hitch carrier would not clear the ladder. While it's a 10K hitch, I only carry a small 3100 generator and a couple jugs of fuel on the carrier. The further you extend it, the more lateral sway you will get and there are devices you can install to reduce this as well. Most "hitch houses" will carry all of this stuff.

We have a Saris bike rack. Love it! So easy my 15 year old daughter can get her own bike down. Love our Windsport too!

My Yakima 4 bike rack works on all my vehicles - including RV and Jeep Wrangler (clearing rear mounted spare).

I put a blue ox 6” extension on my Windsport. It is very heavy duty compared to others but is pricey. I have a Hollywood bike rack for our electric bicycles because it is rated for heavy bicycles. I think this is one case of you get what you pay for.

I use a couple of different one depending on my trip. My absolute favorite is a 2 bike, ladder rack. Weighs <10 lbs and cost less than $50 at cw

I got this simple bike rack that mounts to the ladder, got it from Amazon. Holds two bikes, swings out of the way when not in use. I also use this bike mount to carry two folding rocking chairs that are to large to fit in the storage bays. If you purchase something like this I suggest using blue Loctite on the screws to prevent loosening.

Oh man. My bikes are light but expensive- don’t need 15k hanging out on the ladder! [emoji1]

Etrailer.com has dimensions on a lot of the products they sell. They also have a feature were you can ask questions about a product before you buy. I used a rack on my ladder on my last rig. On my new one I bought a bike rack for the hitch on the toad.

Lol, I figure if the ladder can hold my 250 lbs it can hold a couple of 25 lb bikes. We carried a tandem bike on the ladder rack on some pretty rough road with no problems, I used bungee cords and pool noodles to stop any movement. I understand wanting to protect your investment, I used to do competitive bike racing and had some pretty serious money tied up. They aren’t cheap!!!

For the security you are looking for this is what you need along with a hitch snubber to stop rattles.
