Hello,

Can a 2018 THOR Vegas 25.6 flat tow a Chevrolet Spark with a CVT transmission?

Thank you for any advice you can give me

Look in your owners manual..... It will have a section about towing.

Also look at this:
Downloadable Dinghy Towing Guides | MotorHome Magazine

And the answer you will find is NO, only the manual can be flat towed.

For reference (well a 2017 owner's manual) see pages 269-270 here (pdf).

Trade your Spark in on a Sonic. Much nicer ride and flat towable automatic or manual.

or a Fiesta or Focus.... as many Ford automatic transmission, with CVT, can easily be towed 4-down....

ours has for over 100,000 miles with no issues : )

travel, tow, have fun!

don't go by what anybody 'SAYS', even me, go by the OWNERS MANUAL only.
It's your car, not anybody else's.

No, most Toyotas can not be flat towed. From the Owners Manual:

with any car you look at, take out the owner's manual, and check for the ability to TOW behind another vehicle, 4 wheels down. The manual is your only source - don't rely on the dealer, the salesman, or any of us to make that determination.

Many fine vehicles are towable 4-down, and many that you might think 'should' be, aren't, whether manual or automatic transmission - especially AWD vehicles.
Today's question is not whether it's automatic or manual, but whether the transmission itself is 'towable' without a negative impact to the transmission itself.
Some vehicles are towable 4-down, but ONLY for emergency situations, and not over '35' miles per hour, or such.
Many are towable 4-down in most any situation, such as behind a motorhome, but must not exceed '65' miles per hour, or such, and must be cranked and ran for 15 or so minutes every 100 miles, or such.
Some are very towable and require nothing...

do you homework with the car you are interested in, and enjoy the Motorhome magazine's 'Dinghey' edition for your make, year, and model for more info.

When doing your research: Most owner's manuals are on line just google for them (how I found the Spark one above).

"Chevy Spark Owner's manual"
"RAV4 owner's manual"

Once you've found the manual just do a search for "towing" or "recreational towing". You should be able to find the answer to your question in less than a few minutes.

Agree...this question is so subjective and the only way anyone here can answer it is doing what you should do in the first place....read the Owner's Manual or directly contact CS of the specific manufacturer only. Don't go by what anything or anyone else says. Specs and transmissions can change from year to year. "Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires".

Ditto. This step is so easy and should be done early in your purchase research.
