Year? Manual or Auto? Key or Push Button? Anecdotal or Subaru Official Position?

2018 6 speed, manual , analog key. Both through my own research and dealer information, the owners manual says nothing at all about being recreationally towed. The only precaution it has is for the CVT not be towed faster than 25 MPH and no farther than 30 miles.

I wouldn't think that any AWD vehicle, regardless of transmission, is really towable 4-down... and not even on a tow-dolly.

i think...

Well Subaru stopped putting RV towing in their manuals after 2012 as I recall, and officially, no longer supports it, but manual transmission turn-key Subarus continue to be flat towed. I don't think any Subarus are listed in the dinghy towing guides anymore either.

That being said, both Roadmaster and Blue-Ox make baseplates for your vehicle (specifiying manual transmission) so you should be able to do it. You will need to turn your key 1 notch to unlock the steering wheel.

with that being said, you might 'try' it if you already own an AWD, but if buying new, don't... if the manual doesn't show it or reference it, then chances are it also wouldn't cover it by the warranty.

4 down: No problem.

On a dolly: Never.
