Delano towing an Equinox

We just purchased a 2023 Delano 24RW and want to tow a Chevy Equinox at about 4600 lb. Haven’t taken delivery yet so haven’t gone through the walkthrough - just trying to get a jump on things before we pick it up.

We’ve been towing the car with our trade in MH, a Forest River Solera built on a 2013 6 cylinder Sprinter chassis. Zero issues and that Mercedes diesel runs like a champ. So I’m assuming the Delano will have similar success but like I said we’ve not any tech data on it yet.

Thanks for any feedback.

4600 lbs would put you overweight on your GCWR of 15,250 lbs if the MH is loaded to 10,650 lbs or above. The GVWR on the Delano is 11,030 lbs so you'd be giving up carrying about 400 lbs of stuff (from your OCCC).

I believe geterdun inadvertently said gcwr of 11030 when it’s actually gvwr. In any event, I think the equinox curb weight is about 3400 and gvwr about 45-4600. So unless you load up the equinox (which many do) you do have some room to play with.

We pulled a Miata (about 2400) or a Chevy Sonic (about 2800) with a 2015 Solera easily, with brakes of course. Pulling is easy, but stopping is obviously more important.

Fixed the mis-type.

Delano towing an Equinox

Thank you all for the quick response. You are all correct, I quoted the maximum loaded weight of the Equinox instead of the curb weight. Makes a big difference.

We flat tow and wouldn’t think of doing so without the added braking system.

This all gives me a better feeling about towing the Equinox.

Thanks again
