We just rigged up a 2015 GMC Canyon Pkup and it was almost $4000 to hook up to our 2017 Thor Freedom Elite 29fe. Pricey to say the least!

A.J. - head over to https://www.etrailer.com/?gclid=Cj0K...H8MaAjX-8P8HAQ. They will have all the info you need.

At minimum you'll need:

1. Base plate. $450
2. Wiring harness for the toad from the coach. $80
3. Supplementary brake system. $950
4. Tow Bar. $650

And then the install. About $500.

Hope that helps.

Camping World did ours and I would NOT recommend them. Had to have a lot redone.

This is a place where your diligent shopping will pay off. Do your research on Blue Ox and Roadmaster, the two main brands. Different brake systems, too. Get quotes from several places. Please let the forum in on your choices.

Gotta say - parts are parts. Installing the parts makes the difference. Find a reputable place to do the work that will stand behind the install. Had a friend that actually went to U-Haul. He was very satisfied with the work. Come back here to or IRV2 to get recommendations for install in your area.

Etrailer will install for free if you live close enough. Of course, you have to wait a while for an appointment but free is a good price.

Check out Craigslist for used towing equipment. Sometimes you get lucky finding a baseplate, braking system, etc. Bought a used BlueOx Apollo brake system and a BlueOx two bar from Craigslist and they work fine. Can save you some big bucks.

I set my Jeep up for the price of the road master stow master tow bar $350, made my own base plate for about $30, used brake buddy $450, and some wiring & magnetic brake lights $90. A little over $900, if you're handy

I got my blue ox baseplate and lights, alpha towbar, and drop hitch at Reese's trailer. Added a blue ox Patriot brake and a battery maintainer. Total cost was $3,000.

Blue Ox everything for our Mini Cooper and costs were close to those mentioned by BigBen above. A local body shop installed the base plate and brake light kit and did excellent work.
