Towing a boat behind a Challenger 37kt

Got a quick question for anyone who owns a challenger and has towed a boat behind it. I own a Yamaha 242 S and the dry weight of the boat is 5,100 pounds. According the specs of the challenger it looks like it can only tow 4,000 pounds but comes with a 8,000 pound hitch. I called Thor and they told me that yes I shouldn't have any problems with towing the boat. I'm not planning on going cross country or anything but would like to be able to drive it around 300 miles from the house. Any help would be appreciated.

When I talked to Thor before buying the Challenger earlier this year I was told as long as I didn't exceed the GCWR of 26K towing weight would not be a problem.

You may want to load your coach and have it weighted to determine how much "wiggle room" you have.

Some food for thought:

One thing I notice is the 37KT wheel base is 242 inches whereas other Challenger models such as the LX, ND, and TB are 252 inches. Depending on the tongue weight of your boat and trailer you may experience some additional front end handling (primarily steering) or ride characteristics due to an increase in rear end load (behind the rear wheels). This could cause a problem in high cross wind situations.
