Towing without brake controller

I will be towing a cargo trailer with electric brakes connected to a 7 pin on my RV. The RV does not have a brake controller. When I hit the brake pad on the RV, will the electric brakes on the cargo trailer activate?

No -- you need a brake controller. It senses negative inertia when you depress the brake pedal and sends a signal from the brake controller to the trailer's electric brakes. With an inertia brake controller the strength of the trailer braking signal is proportional to how quickly you are braking the vehicle.

Brake Controller

Thanks, do not want to take a chance towing our motorcycle in a cargo trailer without proper equipment. I am having a trailer brake controller installed in our RV next week.
