Challenger 37LX owners, got a slide question for ya..

Hey guys,

Just curious if any of you 37 LX owners have had any issues with the full wall slideout. I now there were some issues with other thor models in the past with full wall slides. I'm wondering if the 3 trak system they are using now has fixed the weight problem. Thanks

We just completed a 5 month trip where we set up camp 32 different times. The only problem we have had with the full slide was one set-up when the front would go out and the rear would not move. After manually moving the slide out, I was able to access the rear motor. Turned out the setscrew on the motor was missing, and the motor had popped out of its mount, allowing the motor to just spin around. I reseated the motor and added a setscrew. All is good!

That's the same thing that happened to my ace . I now check the screws before I pull the slid in

Ok that's the screw that will make you Have a bad day! That's all that keeps your slide motor from popping out. It actually is held in by gravity and that screw keeps it from moving up....the reason is if for some reason you have other troubles with your slide short bad motor etc you can remove the screws on both ends and reach in behind the weather stripping and pull the motors up out of the gear then go back outside with help and push the slide back in.....
The screw doesn't actually screw into the motor and hold it tight it just screws through the side of the camper and part way into the vent holes of the motor keeping the motor from moving up.

This is a picture of the hole where the setscrew is supposed to be. As you can see from the indentation on the rubber insulation, there was never a setscrew in the hole.
