Anode Rod
Girlfriend and I just bought a used 2006 Thor Tahoe Transport Toy Hauler 28'. It has floor issues which I am working on. But when doing so I took out the water heater and draining it showed only a plug, no anode rod. Is there suppose to be one in this trailer? The Water heater is enclosed in a Styrofoam so not sure of model.
Thanks! |
Suburban water heaters have the anode rod. Atwood's do not have an anode rod.

Anode rod
Are those the models of the water heater?
Thanks for the reply! |
Not models but brand names. Many different models. There is generally a label under the removable panel that will give you model information. You don't have to pull the water heater out or remove the insulation to get that information- unless the label has come off. The Atwood site says "These numbers are located by opening the access door on the exterior of your coach. Inside that door, on the combustion housing there will be a white specification sticker."

Anode Rod
Thanks for all the information. I believe from U-tube research, that it is the Suburban, but will verify when I get back home and then order the anode rod since mine had nothing when I took out the plug.

Did it have metal plug or plastic?
|
Anode Rod
Metal plug, surprisingly wasn't rusted and came right out. But some stuff along with it when I took it out.
|
Metal plug probably means Suburban with anode rod.

My Atwood had a metal plug when I got it... Still rattling around the parts drawer in case I need it - but replaced with nylon... No anode to be seen.
