I am not sure of the speaker wiring and placement in the Ace but one quick test you can also try is swap the rca wires either on the tv end or the radio...

On my 2003, I wired in diodes. On the wrangler at least from that era, the wiring is really simple. It took maybe 10 mins of probing to double check what's what (I have the factory wiring diagram)...
