I agree they sound like a fun compromise, but also haven't seen many (just a couple over the years). Will be interested in this thread.
I personally think a lot of RVers are either young with kids, or older couples who might not feel comfortable and or safe enough in traffic riding a scooter (particularly in unfamiliar roads/cities). While visiting in West Palm Beach I see a lot of scooters on the road and find it surprising more riders don't get killed. Many scooters there are too small in my opinion to keep up with traffic.
I also find it interesting that many students at my university have traded bicycles for scooters. Decades ago everyone rode bikes, and now when I go back to visit, there are literally 1,000s of scooters parked throughout campus.
