When we purchased our previous rig ( Rockwood fifth wheel ) we were told to always open a window or the door when extending and retracting a slide. When extending they act like a plunger and when retracting they act like a pressure pump. I asked the Thor dealer about it and they just stood there looking confused. I will continue opening the door and allow the air to displace naturally.
