We've stayed at Lakeside rv park in Livingston north of New Orleans several times, very nice park about 45-60 minutes across the causeway.
I agree, we weren't impressed with any in town. The nice one in the French Quarters was way too expensive & full of very high end motorhomes.
About 6 years ago we stayed at a park that prior to Katrina was a small motel that they converted to a rv park, VERY tight spots & full of mostly permanent residents. The owners were VERY nice folks though.
