Coach battery issue, Palazzo 33.4

Had a coach battery issue a couple days ago in Verona NY, it appears that the original batteries and their hold down bracket are not designed well or at least not for the OEM batt’s. As you can see in the picture the center battery shifted to the right and the Negative post shorted to ground. Negative post to ground you ask? So what? However this is the center of a 6 volt to 6 volt series, in other words dead shorted one battery and placed 12 volt charging current across the other.

This destroyed one battery and pretty much the second, about 3 bills in batt’s, ohh yes also took out the loop solenoid, another 80, sighhhhh.

I post this so that other Palazzo owners can check their battery compartment for similar issues and perhaps miss out on this kind of fun!!,
