The ones that allow you to add air are usually inside the tire and require the tires to be unmounted. Like
this bluetooth system.
This is the external system that you'd have to remove the sensors to add air.
The internal systems are usually better but you have the extra expense of having them mounted (best to get them when you're purchasing new tires).
