Since the bottom of my emergency exit window is about 6 foot off the ground I have been giving some thought to the best way to exit in an emergency. We have practiced with and without a step ladder by the window and although both methods work they have their downsides.
Recently I have started looking at step systems offered by TorkLift and thinking about how they could be modified to provide an emergency exit stairway. Since they are folding stairs they should store in a compartment and they only weight about 40 pounds.
