Under dash 12V plug for GPS and in-dash power switch

My wife bought the Garmin RV 760LMT GPS for our coach. Its a great unit that lets you put in your RV's dimensions and weight and it will only navigate you on routes that are suitable for your coach.

Amazon.com: Garmin RV 760LMT Portable GPS Navigator: GPS & Navigation

Anyway, I wanted to hide the power cord, so I ran a simple 12 Volt socket under the driver's side dash. I found that I am lazy and didn't like reaching under the dash to plug and unplug the unit. So I hit my local auto parts store and picked up a switch and put an in-dash switch to provide power to the GPS when I want to use it.

I removed one of the two filler plugs in my dash for options I don't have and drilled a hole in it. Then I installed the switch and wired it. I like the clean look and the texture on the switch matches the finish on the filler plug. Another nice feature is the red light that comes on when power is available to the plug in case I want to use it for some other purpose.

A simple mod that makes a difference for me!
