Back to caulking, I sealed the bedroom slide lower boarder trim with Lexel yesterday. You need to be quick. It was about 60* and in the shade. It is a two person job because the Lexel only has about 1 minute working time before it starts to skin over. I put down the Lexel and DW smoothed and pulled the tape. I think I got a good seal and cosmetically it isn't too bad especially since it is higher and you can't really see it close up without a ladder. I did mask off the seal area but you must remove the tape before it starts to skin.

Since I have sealed this area a couple times already and it always seems to crack I decided to see if the trim piece pulled away during slide operation. I does, not during movement but fully closed it closes up a little and when extended it opens. This is only about 1/32" but I think it is enough to crack to sealer. This time I applied the Lexel with the slide slightly open so when I close it it will compress the seal instead of pulling it apart.

The Lexel seems "stickier" than the Geocel but only time will tell.
