My screen name came from a time when the dawn of main frame computers were arriving on the scene, before Apple and MS. After using line by line Unix, driving CAD on a DEC machine, low and behold a graphics interface showed up called Mosaic. Shortly thereafter email as we know it came about.
Ok enough history, I'm almost as old as Bob D.. Now for my screen name or moniker; it is my initials with two easy digits.[/QUOTE]

Here’s where I date myself. In my first job after graduating from college I was a member of a group that did dynamic simulations of refining and chemical processes using a combination of analog and digital computers - known then as a hybrid computer. The analog side did modeling of fast processes and the digital did all the complex work, such as thermodynamics and equilibrium calcualations.

The first digital computer we had was programmed with paper tape and a KSR-33 teletype machine. Took all day to attempt to compile. Result was short error tape (run through the teletype to find out the error) or a long one that might be a core image tape. After a couple of years, we got a new machine that could use punch cards. Eventually we became gentlemen and could use line editors. Far different world when you would bug hunt by stepping through a program instruction by instruction and read the lights to see what was going on.
