I should add that the probable reason that your Xantreex panel is 0.5V lower than a meter reading on the batteries is the loose connections are not allowing a "good" reading to be had. Then when a load is applied, i.e. refrigerator starts, no solid contact between the cables and inverter posts is causing it to go into overload. I hope this works out for you like it did for me.
