Our slide is on the passenger side and the head of our bed is as well. I always manually level a little high on that side not so much for the weight of the slide altering level as to raise the head of the bed slightly.

You don't have to have the camper perfectly level, but if my slide was already out and I wanted to adjust the level I would have no problem staring the engine and tweaking it manually.
